1 Raja-raja 6:36

6:36 He built the inner courtyard with three rows of chiseled stones and a row of cedar beams.

1 Raja-raja 7:11

7:11 Above the foundation the best stones, chiseled to the right size, were used along with cedar.

1 Raja-raja 8:3

8:3 When all Israel’s elders had arrived, the priests lifted the ark.

1 Raja-raja 9:1

The Lord Gives Solomon a Promise and a Warning

9:1 After Solomon finished building the Lord’s temple, the royal palace, and all the other construction projects he had planned,

1 Raja-raja 9:20

9:20 Now several non-Israelite peoples were left in the land after the conquest of Joshua, including the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.

1 Raja-raja 13:27

13:27 He told his sons, “Saddle my donkey,” and they did so.

tn Or “blessed.”

tn Heb “throne.”

tn Heb “on top,” or “above.”

tn Or “valuable” (see 5:17).

tn Heb “according to the measurement of chiseled [stone].”

tn Heb “and all the desire of Solomon which he wanted to do.”

tn Heb “all the people who were left from the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not from the sons of Israel.”

tn Heb “and they saddled [it].”

tn Heb “yet the heart of Asa was complete with the Lord all his days.”

10 tn Heb “Do not listen and do not be willing.”

11 sn The point of the saying is that someone who is still preparing for a battle should not boast as if he has already won the battle. A modern parallel would be, “Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched.”

12 tn Heb “she wrote on the scrolls, saying.”

13 tc A few Hebrew mss and some ancient versions agree with 2 Kgs 9:10, 36, which reads, “the plot [of ground] at Jezreel.” The Hebrew words translated “outer wall” (חֵל, khel, defectively written here!) and “plot [of ground]” (חֵלֶק, kheleq) are spelled similarly.
